In honor of McDermott's 50th Anniversary, we are proud to introduce a commemorative series of limited-edition cues—each inspired by a classic design from our history.
Over the coming months, we'll be unveiling 13 unique cues that pay tribute to McDermott's legacy. Every cue in the collection has been meticulously handcrafted and will include a Certificate of Authenticity and a 50th Anniversary carrying case.
As the centerpiece of the 50th Anniversary Series, the MCD50 showcases detailed point work and rotational sleeve inlays inspired by decades of McDermott heritage. Engineered with H-Series construction and our VBP Weight System, it combines exceptional playability with timeless design. With only 50 individually serialized cues, the MCD50 represents a highly collectible milestone in McDermott's legacy and a cue built to be treasured for years to come.
The MCD50A honors the B-Series from the 1970s. The second series we made offered a variety of different styles, but the simple elegance of this cue was always popular. Originally built using Rosewood and offering a variety of pearl colors, we selected green as it pairs very nicely with the figured Ziricote wood. This cue pays tribute to the B-3 with minor changes to the wood, rings, and wrap color, while still keeping the classic design that helped create an iconic brand.
The G406 remains one of the most distinctive and frequently requested cues in McDermott's 50-year history. Originally part of the G-Series, which debuted in 2010, the G406 stood out for its bold artistic expression. Its "Billiard Kokopelli" inlay showcases one of our most creative design efforts—paying homage to the Native American heritage of the American Southwest. For the MCD50B, the original spalted maple has been replaced with rich cocobolo for a refined, updated look.
The MCD50C pays tribute to the iconic M14D "Portico," originally released in 2001. While preserving much of the original forearm design, the MCD50C features a reimagined sleeve. The floating box windows of the M14D have been replaced with a connected window motif—creating a more unified, architectural feel that better reflects the "Portico" name. This updated layout brings new symmetry to the design and offers a bold showcase of McDermott's signature green.
The MCD50D draws inspiration from the M33A "Classic," originally released in 2003 and produced through 2009. This anniversary edition preserves the clean, layered point work that defined the original design, while introducing several refined updates. Cocobolo has been used for both the forearm and sleeve, offering a richer visual contrast. The original Irish linen wrap has been replaced with a sleek, black painted no-wrap handle for a more modern, streamlined finish.
The MCD50E is inspired by the M903—a cue that marked the turn of the century and was produced from 1999 to 2003. Its forearm has been re-envisioned with a seamless floating point design that echoes the elegance of the original. The sleeve remains faithful to the M903, while enhanced contrast in the inlays brings new life to the cue's clean, unstained Birdseye maple. The MCD50E blends nostalgic design with modern refinement to honor one of McDermott's most graceful classics.
The MCD50F is a bold reinterpretation of the G705—flipping the original's design into its visual opposite. The black urethane forearm and sleeve have been replaced with warm, natural curly maple, setting the stage for upgraded snakewood and ebony points. Brass now takes the place of the original pewter and silver accents, adding a rich glow to the cue's overall look. A brown lizard-embossed leather wrap completes the transformation, offering a warm, refined contrast to the cool-toned aesthetic of the G705.
The MCD50G pays tribute to the B-16, one of the most sought-after cues from our 1970s B-Series. Featuring classic veneer colors framed in ebony points and windows, this Anniversary edition adds refined touches with Mother-of-Pearl diamonds and dots. A birdseye maple forearm and sleeve, paired with matching index rings, complete the design—blending vintage charm with modern craftsmanship.
The MCD50H draws inspiration from the E-M5a of the 1990s Masterpiece Series and lives up to its name with striking detail. Signature “Battlement” rings frame a design highlighted by purple accents—the most coveted of the original Masterpiece cues. Enhanced with gold Mother-of-Pearl inlays and blue river agate, this Anniversary edition preserves the spirit of the original while commemorating 50 years of craftsmanship.
Inspired by the E-K3, the MCD50I elevates the classic chess motif with rich ebony and holly construction. The forearm points now feature four distinct pieces—the bishop, knight, rook, and pawn—balanced by king and queen inlays on the sleeve. With the addition of “Chessboard” index rings and a Defy shaft, this cue is a striking tribute to McDermott heritage.
Inspired by the gambler cues of the 1980s, the MCD50J combines the card suits of the C-20 with the dice motif of the D-19. Red, black, and white accents frame the design, while “Poker Chip” index rings reinforce the theme. The result is a cue that celebrates two of McDermott's most recognizable classics in one anniversary model.
The MCD50K pays tribute to the D-23, one of the most beloved cues from the D-Series. Its signature rose motif returns through detailed laser engraving on the sleeve, framed by classic white oval inlays. While the inlay pattern remains true to the original, the floating points have been updated with bold red accents that echo the roses, creating a harmonious and modernized design. A light American cherry stain on the birdseye maple forearm and a traditional genuine Irish linen wrap complete this elegant anniversary edition.
When the M29D “Sierra” debuted in 2002, its distinctive rotational ringwork set a new benchmark for cue design. The MCD50L continues that legacy, featuring even more of the signature “Stalactite/Stalagmite” rings that made the original so memorable. Thanks to H-Series construction, we were able to expand the design while keeping every detail true to its inspiration. Paired with an i-2 shaft and VBP weight system, this cue brings a classic into the modern era.
